I built this interactive tool to explore how damping works in Single Degree of Freedom (SDOF) systems under seismic and dynamic loading. Understanding dynamic structural response is critical in civil engineering when designing earthquake-resistant structures.
The simulator allows you to adjust properties like mass, stiffness, and damping ratios to visualize directly how these parameters influence the amplitude and decay of vibrations over time.
